Flying bats

With Halloween around the corner it's a perfect time to get kids involved with spooky crafts decoration. With this template your kids can easily create their own flying bats!

After printing the template and cutting out the bats, the children can colour them on both sides. Use thick paper to print the template, otherwise the bats can easily hurt their wings ;-) Another option is to use a milk carton for the backside of the bats. If you are lucky, the inside of your milk carton is just as shiny as ours. This will make the bats look even more creepy!

We created a nice habitat for our bats and hung them with a fishing line on a branch.

Did you know Vincent van Gogh was into Halloween as well? He painted a flying fox in 1884. You can colour your own version of Vincent's "Flying fox". Download the colouring page on this website and become a mini Van Gogh.

Besides our bats, we also carved a pumpkin into a jack-o'-lantern and made a skeleton of cotton swabs. I bet the parents will be scared to death when they arrive home :-)
